CANYONING

TRA and its qualified team invite you to discover the great canyons of the northern Himalayas through various programs:

Beginner Program

CanyoningCanyoning is a descent into canyons, along the bed of a stream, which includes a combination of fun activities: jumping into pools of water, going through narrow passages, water-sliding, abseiling in waterfalls (using rope techniques), etc.

Going through the canyons burrowed in the rock, discovering natural treasures, experiencing sensational feelings while abseiling in waterfalls, you will live incredible and unforgettable moments!

No technical skill is required for this sport, which allows one to discover fantastic and astonishing pieces of nature.

Everyone can practice canyoning, onwards from the age of ten. We only need to choose the correct route according to your level of ability.  Abseiling, or jumping into waterfalls, can usually be avoided by going by another way if you are too impressed!!!

Canyoning is a perfect activity for a family trip, a weekend among friends and team building programs.

Top Rock Adventures’ objectives:

Top Rock AdventuresTop Rock Adventures (TRA) is composed of French instructors with objectives of developing canyoning in India.

Our French team, who has set routes in many new canyons in France, Italy, and Spain during the last 15 years, is also the first to explore deep canyons and rivers in the Indian Himalayas.

We are in fact the pioneers in India, developing this fun and adventurous outdoor activity which is practiced on a large scale abroad.

Still, Top Rock Adventures is the only one in the Indian Himalayas that can enable you to discover this activity.
We have route settled in Manali (Himachal Pradesh) and in Uttarakand more than 15 amazing canyons for all levels, from beginners to experts.

TRA’s team is involved in various training programs to develop new outdoor activities through Asia. Five years ago, a training program was initiated in Nepal in collaboration with Nepalese authorities and the International Federation of Caving and Canyoning. The Nepali Canyon Association (NCA) was then born. This has provided many job opportunities for locals and will support in 2010 the first International Conference on Canyons in Asia.

We are now extending this project to the northern part of the Indian Himalayas. In 2009, we lead an international expedition and opened five of the most beautiful canyons of Manali (HP).
